BBG FAQ

Processed with MOLDIV

BBG (Bikini Body Guide) app click HERE

Hi Friends!

First of all, thank you SO much for all your support and kind words! I wish I could hug and thank each of you in person because I feel like words are insufficient. This fitness journey of mine has truly been life changing and I love sharing and helping as many of you as I can. I have had tons of questions about the Kayla Itsines BBG workouts so here are some answers to some FAQ. 🙂

What is BBG? It is the Bikini Body Guide workouts created by Kayla Itsines and Tobi Pearce.

Do you use her app or the guides? I use her app and the link to it is in pink above.

Do you use her meal plans or do your own? I do my own meal plans. I’m not the most experienced cook so I prefer my meals to be as simple as possible!

What do you eat? I have started a new tradition that I start every January. I go on a strict only protein, fruits, veggies, healthy fats, and very few carbs diet for 12 weeks. I drink TONS of water and each week I have 1 cheat meal and dessert. My goal with this diet is to learn all about healthy options and substitutes for my favorite foods. It’s not necessarily a “diet”…. it’s a lifestyle.

Here is a food schedule that I like to do…

BREAKFAST: Kind Bar and a banana or apple (I don’t like to eat too much in the morning)

LUNCH: Avocado toast with sliced tomatoes on top or almond butter and honey toast

DINNER: Steamed veggies and grilled salmon

SNACKS: Fruits, veggies, almonds

DRINKS: I only drink water I make sure to drink 68oz (4 16.9oz water bottles)

How much of your diet did you change? ALL OF IT! 80% of how you look is what you eat. So don’t just workout and eat whatever and expect to look amazing. Change your whole lifestyle… don’t plan on this being temporary.

How do you complete the circuits?  I do the circuits as many times as I can until the timer goes off. I go as fast as I can but make sure that I am keeping good form. Working out with correct form and making sure that you’re truly working the muscle helps you get the best and safest workout! Bad form = injuries! So make sure that you are listening to your body and if there is a sharp pain then you’re either doing the exercise in bad form or you need to take it easy. Her mini how-to videos on the app are great to help you know how to do an exercise.

Do you do strictly BBG or do you do other workouts as well? I strictly do BBG but lately I like to add some extra butt exercises. I like to do yoga for my LISS sometimes instead of walking on an incline (incline: 15 and speed: 2.5-3) all the time. It’s good to change things up!

Do you go to the gym or do you have equipment at home? I go to the gym.. I just can’t get motivated at home so it’s worth it to me to have a gym membership. Plus they have everything I need there and I get time for myself because of the childcare. But if you’re a home workout person then that’s great! these workouts require some equipment but not tons. So you can easily get by with some at home stuff.

How long did it take for you to start seeing change? 5 weeks… it took me 5 weeks to lose 2 pounds! it’s not going to be fast, it’s not going to be easy, it will kill you emotionally and physically. BUT it will be worth it! There is no pill or quick fix.. you won’t lose 10lbs in a week. give yourself a realistic timeline and just put your head down and work for it. In a year, you’ll look back and be glad you started today!

How do you stay motivated and consistent? COMMITMENT is KEY! You have to decide that you will keep up with your eating and workouts even on the bad days. Make it a priority and plan it into your schedule. If you don’t have a set time to go to the gym then you will always push it off and end up not going. And most of all!! Find a way in yourself to keep going… for me, I would look in the mirror and ask if I was happy with what I saw. If I said no, then I would get ready and go without another thought.

The only person in this world who can change your life is yourself!! So stop giving yourself excuses and do something about whatever it is you’re unhappy with. Be strong and believe in yourself! YOU CAN DO THIS!

xoxo,

Becca

New Year Resolutions 2017

“For what it’s worth, it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over.” –  F. Scott Fitzgerald

Happy almost New Year!

I can’t believe that another year has come and gone! Time is seriously going by way too fast! That’s one of the reasons why I started taking resolutions so seriously. At the start of each new year, I select one big thing to focus on for that year. Picking one goal has been the best and most realistic thing for me to do instead of having a long list of ideas and not sticking to any after January haha (you know what I mean… ?).

I have been doing this successfully for 3 years! I usually pick either something that I am insecure or unhappy with like… 2016 I chose to focus on health and fitness (losing all my baby weight). 2015 I chose starting my blog (which was extremely intimidating because I had no idea what I was doing!).. and 2014 I chose to focus on my skin care and how to apply makeup properly.

By doing this every year, I have transformed an insecurity into a strength! Which in the long run, has helped me over come huge personal obsticals and made me a happier person. I try to select something that is personal instead of a general family goal because it was important to me to take care of myself so I can give more to my family.

This coming new year (2017) I have decided to make it my next level year! I want to take everything I have been working on and take it all to the next level. So here is the break down..

My Blog:

My goal this year is to go to fashion week for the first time and start working on a bigger scale with bigger companies.

Fitness:

Every January I will begin a 12 week extreme clean eating tradition to help jump start a healthy new year. I want to get a six pack this year!

Skin Care & Beauty:

I want to continue to find new and amazing ways to help me to look and feel my best:)

LipSense:

And last but not least, my new adventure with SeneGence! This has been something I have been working on for only 3 months and has helped me not only make some extra money but has been helping my husband and I reach our financial goals! I never thought that I would be in the position that I could actually make a difference in our family’s finances. Just in December alone, I made $2k (which is more then I have ever made from my past jobs)!! So my goal this year is to continue succeeding and growing to help our family reach our financial goals by the end of the year.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that this year will be my GIRL BOSS year! It’s time to kick everything up a notch and change our lives! After all, you’re the only one who has the ability to change anything for yourself. So what are you waiting for? Let’s make 2017 a LIFE CHANGING YEAR!

xoxo,

Becca

Adopt Don’t Shop This Christmas

Humane Society // photos: Peace Photo

Hello Friends,

So remember that day that I spent at the Human Society? You guys, it was one of the best shoots I’ve ever done!! First of all, it was so fun getting together with these ladies and playing with cute dogs. But what I loved the most was giving these sweet animals a day away from their kennel and some needed one-on-one time to play in the fresh grass and just be cared for.

Since I was a little girl I have loved dogs. I love all animals but dogs especially! So when I walked in and saw Doc’s cute little face, I just couldn’t resist picking him up (Doc is that little chihuahua’s name). It was love at first sight! Unfortunately, we decided as a family that it wasn’t the right time to add another member to the family. But I was SO close to taking him home!!

So this Christmas, if it’s the perfect time for you to add to your cute family… take the time to go to the humane society and see if one of those cuties catches your eye. Not only will you make their day.. but you will give that animal a second chance to have a home and life.

Merry Christmas everyone:)

Becca

BLANQI BLACK FRIDAY SALE // PHOTOGRAPHY: Peace Photo

Hello friends!

I’m sorry I’ve been so horrible about posting on my blog lately. Life has been so busy that I literally forgot that Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK!! What!! So yeah, for me.. like my most recent post, Halloween was yesterday haha. Anyways, now that we are all approaching the best time of year, lets chat about Black Friday! I have a TON of great deals coming your way so make sure to keep an eye out for them because you don’t want to miss out on my favorite gifts to give this season. Like these Blanqi Leggings!

Guys, I literally live in these haha! Now that Aiden has been walking around like he owns the place, I have officially begun the mom chase. And to survive such constant cardio, these babies have been my saving grace (*hands raised emoji… I need emoji’s on my laptop). They are SO comfy and breathable plus they come up pretty high so it helps my PP body look smooth under my clothes. So believe me when I say that anyone that gets these will be EXTREMELY happy! Because of their high waist support, its a great present for new breastfeeding moms!

Well loves, have the best weekend ever and thank you for stopping by!

xoxo,

Becca

Happy Sunday!

We have had the busiest month and I’m so glad it’s almost over! Dan has been traveling and working a ton… sometimes we go with him and sometimes we don’t. Currently, we are heading home from San Diego. It was a short but sweet trip. Dan throws events for different Universities so while he does that, we go explore the city. But now that the month is ending… we will finally be home and I’m SO excited to enjoy this yummy fall season and welcome in the holidays! It’s seriously my favorite time of year. I hope you all are enjoying some cozy family time as well! It’s officially time to get those Halloween costumes ready and I just can’t handle my excitement haha!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friends,

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE DINO!! Aiden’s real birthday is in July but we travel a lot during the summer so we decided to have his first birthday party when we could have our family and friends around for it. So September it was haha!! Two months late but it was still a blast! We had some Sweet Tooth Fairy cake and cupcakes (which were AMAZING!) and all the words, writing, and signs were made by my dear friend Sarah Ward Calligraphy. I’m obsessed with how everything looked and turned out… seriously the cutest party! And to help with the heat, we had some delicious popsicles from Lick’D Pops… no joke, they are my absolute favorite treats ever now. If you guys haven’t tried them then you should… go get them at any Harmons. You’ll thank me later haha 🙂

Again, HUGE THANK YOU to everyone involved in pulling off the best first birthday for little A!! I seriously couldn’t have done it with out you all! AND Thank you to Shelli Dame Photography for not only taking pictures at the party but she also helped set up… talk about going above and beyond 🙂

HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND!

xoxo,

Becca

Crock Pot Meals with a little Fashion

imageimageimageimageimage

DRESS: Target // BOOTIES: Target // HAT: H&M // CHOKER: Urban Outfitters // DIAPER BAG: Fawn Design // PHOTOGRAPHY: Peace Photo

Hello Friends,

I’m so sorry this took me FOREVER to post!! But, better late then never right? Here are some recipies from those crock pot meals I made earlier this summer. I pre-made these and froze them… they last for 6 months so even if you don’t use them right away, you don’t have to worry about tossing your food. We ate them for dinner almost every night (with plenty of left overs) so we had dinner premade for a month and a half! Oh, and I made them with a partner and bought the food in bulk so it was much cheaper. It cost us each about $250 for all this food! Hope you like these as much as we did!!

By the way, somethings on the menu have been changed slightly so if there are some things missing that’s because they weren’t that good haha.

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

xoxo,

Becca

The Baby Cubby Car Seat Guide

imageimageimage

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CAR SEAT GUIDE HERE

CAR SEAT: Maxi Cosi – The Baby Cubby // AIDEN’S MOCCS: Freshly Picked // MY DRESS: Neesee’s Dresses // PHOTOGRAPHY: Peace Photo

HELLO, Hello!

As you know, from following our adventures on instagram (@rebecca_swiss), Aiden has been growing WAY too fast and has now moved onto his big boy car seat! It was such a sad moment saying good bye to the infant seat but we had a blast looking for this new seat for him. The Baby Cubby is one of my favorite stores to shop from and they have a car seat guide (here) that makes the selection process a breeze. I love how they make you feel at home at their store and help you for as long as you need with answers to questions and they price match!

After going through the guide, I was debating between two car seats; the Nuna Rava and the Maxi Cosi Pria 85. I loved how they both looked… so sleek, classy, and black (I love all black things!). They both have high safety, extreme comfort for your child and easy to clean. We decided on the Maxi Cosi because it was a little more budget friendly.  Aiden LOVES it and is so happy to not be crammed in his tiny infant seat anymore hahaha (poor guy). I’m in love with it too! We have had it for a few weeks now and I highly recommend it!

Well, I hope this helps all you parents with some of your shopping questions and thank you for stopping by!

xoxo,

Becca
